Jasa Marga Ensures Service Readiness and Vigilance for Lebaran Return Flow
Japek II Selatan has been opened for traffic distribution, thereby reducing congestion at KM 66 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has ensured service readiness and strengthened operations to anticipate the return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on 28-29 March 2026, in line with projections from the Ministry of Transportation.
“The potential for increased return traffic is still estimated to occur during the weekend period up to 28-29 March 2026,” said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Rivan noted that several rest areas on the Trans Java Toll Road towards Jakarta are likely to experience congestion, particularly at KM 229B and KM 208B on the Palikanci section, as well as KM 164B on the Cipali section.
Therefore, road users are advised to adjust their travel patterns by utilising alternative rest areas, either before those points such as at KM 360B and KM 380B on the Batang-Semarang section, or afterwards at KM 130B on the Cipali section.
As a precautionary measure, continued Rivan, in accordance with police discretion, an open-close scheme will be applied at rest area KM 62B, along with the situational temporary closure of rest area KM 52B on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section.
He also reminded return flow participants from Bandung towards Jakarta that they can use the Jakarta-Cikampek II Selatan Toll Road (Japek II Selatan), which has been opened functionally.
“Japek II Selatan has been opened for traffic distribution, thus reducing congestion at KM 66 on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road,” he added.
Through Travoy, road users can monitor real-time traffic conditions, learn about rest area locations along with their facilities and capacities.
Additionally, information on the availability of petrol stations or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) can be accessed, allowing road users to plan fuel or electric vehicle charging more optimally.
“And there is no need to enter rest areas that do not suit their needs,” he said.
He hopes that all road users will remain disciplined in driving. On one-way lanes, the right lane and road shoulder are not intended for overtaking.
“If intending to slow down, still use the left lane as per regulations to maintain collective safety,” said Rivan.
Jasa Marga also urges the public to prepare their journeys well, starting from ensuring the driver’s physical condition is prime, the vehicle is roadworthy, to planning departure times considering current traffic conditions.
PT Jasa Marga recorded that traffic conditions returning to the Jabotabek area during the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 return flow period on 26-27 March 2026 tended to be dispersed.
After the highest return traffic to Jabotabek occurred on 24 March 2026 (256,338 vehicles), Jasa Marga recorded traffic also dispersed on 25 March 2026 with 206,243 vehicles and 26 March 2026 with 192,122 vehicles.
These figures represent cumulative traffic flow from four main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Main (from the Trans Java direction), GT Kalihurip Main and GT Functional Japek II Selatan (from the Bandung direction), GT Cikupa (from the Merak direction), and GT Ciawi (from the Puncak direction).
“The high volume of vehicles at the end of this weekend will also impact increased activity of toll road users at rest areas,” said Rivan.
