Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, together with the Ministry of Transportation and the National Traffic Police Corps, stated that services for the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return traffic in 2026 proceeded generally under control. The increase in traffic volume during the homecoming and return periods was deemed manageable through intensive collaboration among stakeholders. Traffic conditions gradually eased on several toll road sections. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono, in a statement in Jakarta on Monday, reported that up to Sunday (29/3) at 22:00 WIB, a total of 2.9 million vehicles had entered Jakarta. This figure equates to 86 percent of the total projected vehicles returning to Jakarta. “We will still account for traffic until 06:00 WIB tomorrow. However, we note that the average volume per capacity ratio (VC Ratio) on several major Trans-Java toll roads was monitored under control. The VC Ratio on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road was recorded at 0.3, Palikanci Toll Road at 0.28, Cipali Toll Road at 0.22, and Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 0.36,” he said. Based on these parameters, the return traffic flow was observed to have eased from KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta. To anticipate vehicle surges, the National Traffic Police Corps, through Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, implemented several strategic measures in traffic engineering management. “Up to tonight, the contraflow and precision local one-way schemes are still in effect. Subsequently, we continue to monitor based on evaluations and VC Ratio; currently, traffic conditions are under control. Therefore, we have conducted sterilisation and socialisation to the public that the one-way implementation will officially end in the early hours of this Sunday (29/03) at 24:00 WIB, in accordance with the joint decision,” said Agus. Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi explained that as traffic conditions become increasingly controlled, the precision local one-way implementation is officially halted, and traffic flow gradually returns to normal. “The precision local one-way implementation at 24:00 WIB we declare complete. To the public still travelling, we urge caution and to always follow directions and instructions from officers on the ground, as journeys continue and traffic is now operating normally,” said Dudy. Jasa Marga also expressed appreciation for the collaboration of all stakeholders in traffic management during the 2026 Eid Holiday, including the Ministry of Transportation, the National Traffic Police Corps, and operational officers in the field. Moving forward, the company will continue to enhance operational services to ensure that road users’ journeys remain safe, comfortable, and arrive safely at their destinations.
