Jasa Marga Commits to Ensuring Travel Safety and Security
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR), through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM), is continuing preservation works on a number of toll road sections within the Jasa Marga Group to keep pavement conditions in line with the Minimum Service Standards (SPM). As a public service company, this step is part of Jasa Marga’s commitment to maintaining infrastructure quality while ensuring journeys remain smooth, safe, comfortable and secure along the Jasa Marga Group toll road network.
Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said preservation is an important part of maintaining the quality, reliability and sustainability of toll roads. The works are carried out periodically with safety as a priority, given that toll roads continuously bear high traffic loads, including overloaded vehicles or Over Dimension Overloading (ODOL), which can accelerate the deterioration of pavement quality and service life.
“Jasa Marga continues to carry out preservation works periodically as part of efforts to keep toll road quality in prime condition. We understand that preservation works can affect road users’ journeys, so all implementation is carried out in a planned manner, taking into account various important aspects so that works can proceed while traffic flow around the site remains maintained,” Rivan said in a written statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).
To minimise the impact on road user mobility, the majority of preservation works are carried out at night until the early hours of the morning, when traffic volumes are relatively lower. The implementation of preservation works also takes into account the provisions of Government Regulation Number 23 of 2024 on Toll Roads, Article 88 paragraph (3), which stipulates that preservation activities must consider traffic safety and smooth flow.
During the works, affected lanes are cordoned off and equipped with warning signs and safety devices, while operational personnel are on standby 24 hours a day to ensure a rapid response to emergency conditions in the field.
“We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by road users during the preservation works. We continue to strive to provide the best service through smooth, safe and comfortable toll road services. By placing customers at the centre of every service, we seek to minimise the impact on public journeys through traffic management, the timing of works and adequate safety measures at work sites,” Rivan explained.
Jasa Marga urges road users to anticipate preservation works by planning their journeys, including checking the latest traffic information and the locations of work sites to adjust travel times or choose alternative routes. When passing near work sites, road users are advised to always be careful, maintain a safe distance, observe speed limits, signage and the directions of officers.
To obtain the latest information or submit complaints related to travel, road users can access the Travoy application or contact Call Centre 133.
In practice, preservation works are tailored to the condition and needs of each section, including patching, Scrapping & Filling (SF), and pavement reconstruction. These three types of work are currently being carried out on a number of Jasa Marga Group toll road sections.
On the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, works include pavement reconstruction and patching. On the Jakarta Inner City Toll Road, works include SF and patching, while on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, patching, SF and pavement reconstruction are being carried out at a number of points according to field conditions.
In addition, preservation works are also continuing on a number of other Jasa Marga Group toll road sections as part of efforts to maintain toll road quality and reliability on an ongoing basis.
As a state-owned enterprise managing toll road infrastructure, Jasa Marga is committed to continuing to maintain asset reliability through planned and sustainable toll road management. These efforts are part of Jasa Marga’s contribution as a public service company in supporting national connectivity, improving the efficiency of public mobility and logistics distribution, and strengthening the quality of Indonesia’s transport infrastructure.
“This commitment is also aligned with the Government’s Asta Cita, particularly the third Asta Cita on continuing the development of quality infrastructure,” Rivan concluded.
