Jasa Marga addresses flooding on Jagorawi Toll Road
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) Regional Division through Representative Office 1 (RO1), as the operator of the Jagorawi Toll Road, is handling flooding on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Jakarta from KM 12+800 to KM 12+600, reaching a height of 30 cm.
βThe flooding was observed starting at 16.45 WIB. Shortly afterwards, RO1 JMT personnel along with Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM) were at the location and carried out initial handling steps and identification of the flooding cause,β said Senior Manager of Representative Office 1 JMT Regional Division, Alvin Andituahta Singarimbun, in his statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
Field observations by personnel revealed that the flooding was caused by water volume exceeding the drainage capacity due to high inflow rates from both the toll road and the surrounding community environment, resulting in overflow from the drains and flooding of the toll road.
Currently, JMTM personnel are cleaning rubbish at the drainage location to accelerate water flow.
Meanwhile, Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) personnel are regulating traffic at the flooding site. Currently, the outer shoulder, lane 1, and lane 2 are temporarily impassable, while lanes 3 and 4 remain accessible to road users.
Additionally, flooding has occurred at the Rest and Service Area (TIP) or rest area at KM 10 on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Bogor.
As a result of the incident, the clean water pumps have been damaged and cannot be used temporarily. At the discretion of the police, starting at 19.30 WIB, the TIP at KM 10 on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Bogor has been temporarily closed until all equipment is back to normal operation.
Jasa Marga apologises for the inconvenience experienced during the flooding handling process.
