Jasa Marga accused of graft on JORR

BEKASI: A special team established by the Bekasi Council, tasked to investigate the prolonged delay of Jakarta Outer Ring Road project, suspect that several people from toll road operator PT Jasa Marga had illegally marked up the price for land compensation that the company is supposed to pay.

"Several PT Jasa Marga staffers, themselves became land speculators in the land compensation scheme. The company should take stern measures against them," the team head Salamat Siahaan was quoted as saying by Antara on Tuesday.

Mayor Akhmad Zurfaih had issued a decree on August serving as a guideline to set the amount of compensation for dozens of Bekasi residents who owned the remaining 12 hectares of land affected in the project.

The remaining land sites are located in Jatiwarna, Jatimekar, Jatiasih and Jakamulya subdistricts. -- JP
