Jasa Marga Accelerates Widening of Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, Progress at 81 Percent
JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is continuing to accelerate the widening works on the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, particularly on the Kejapanan-Gempol segment. As of the 35th week of implementation, the cumulative progress of the project has reached 81.02 percent. This work is part of efforts to increase the capacity of infrastructure in the strategic corridor of the Trans-Java Toll Road. “JTT continues to carry out optimal acceleration of the work while paying attention to operational aspects in the field. All stages of the work are carried out through intensive coordination so that the widening work can run effectively without significantly disrupting the comfort of road users,” said Ria, quoted on Wednesday (06/05/2026). The widening is being carried out to increase service capacity on a route with continuously growing traffic volume. This route serves as an important connecting line for public mobility as well as logistics distribution from Surabaya to Gempol, Pasuruan, Malang, and supporting areas in East Java. Ria stated that the widening of the Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road is part of the company’s commitment to supporting connectivity and regional growth. “We want to provide toll road infrastructure that can deliver a better travel experience for road users, both in terms of comfort and travel time efficiency,” said Ria. During the construction period, traffic arrangements are carried out situationally according to field needs. JTT ensures that toll road operations continue to run normally.
