PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is ensuring all sections of toll roads under its management are in prime condition ahead of increased public mobility during the 2026 Eid holiday period or 1447 H Idul Fitri.

In recent times, sustained heavy rainfall has the potential to trigger damage to road surfaces. This situation is exacerbated by high traffic volumes, including vehicles with excessive loads or over dimension over loading (ODOL), which can accelerate road surface deterioration.

Based on forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), during the 2026 Eid holiday period, weather conditions are expected to be generally characterised by rain with light to moderate intensity across several Indonesian regions.

Consequently, Jasa Marga is accelerating a comprehensive and sustained toll road preservation programme. Through this initiative, Jasa Marga is targeting all toll road pavement disturbances to be handled optimally by 14 March 2026.

Jasa Marga Chief Executive Rivan A Purwantono extended his apologies to all toll road users for the inconvenience caused by pavement disturbances on several Jasa Marga Group toll road sections. Apologies were also extended to users whose journeys have been affected by the ongoing preservation work.

“We are committed to accelerating preservation work so that the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of toll road users remain protected, especially in facing the surge in traffic volume during the Eid exodus and return period,” said Rivan in a press release received by Kompas.com on Thursday (12/3/2026).

The preservation work is conducted under supervision of the Ministry of Public Works as part of fulfilling performance standards (SPM). Through these efforts, Jasa Marga continues to enhance the quality of toll road services to ensure motorist safety and comfort as the top priority.

Technically, preservation work includes scraping, filling, and overlay (SFO) to restore road surface quality, rapid pothole repair (patching), and strengthening pavement structure at points affected by ODOL vehicle loads. Additionally, Jasa Marga is also undertaking drainage channel cleaning and normalisation to prevent waterlogging from sustained heavy rainfall that could accelerate road construction degradation.
