Jasa Marga: 278,000 Vehicles Pass Through Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road During Eid 2026
Jasa Marga, through its Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division, recorded 278,859 vehicles passing through the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi (MKTT) toll road during the Eid 2026 holiday period.
The traffic volume was counted from 11-25 March 2026,” said Jasa Marga’s President Director, Rivan A Purwanto, in an official statement received in Medan on Thursday (26/3/2026).
He noted that during this holiday period, the public made optimal use of the toll road sections, as evidenced by a 23.91 per cent increase in traffic volume compared to normal conditions.
Of the total vehicles recorded, 84,150 entered through the Kualanamu Toll Gate from the direction of Kualanamu Airport.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles heading to Kualanamu Airport through the same gate reached 90,145 units.
“Vehicles originating from Kualanamu Airport increased by 19.87 per cent, and those heading to Kualanamu Airport increased by 19.38 per cent,” he said.
Overall, traffic volume on the four toll roads in the Nusantara region also experienced a significant increase, totalling 2,875,280 vehicles during the same period.
To support the smooth flow of Eid 2026 homecoming and return travel, Jasa Marga has taken various anticipatory measures.
The company added the number of operational toll gates to speed up transactions, provided mobile readers, and increased points for topping up electronic money balances for road users.
In addition, officers were deployed to monitor potential security and order disruption points, and service posts were provided.
Jasa Marga also ensured that all information and communication systems functioned optimally, including monitoring via closed-circuit television (CCTV) on the toll lanes and transaction gates.
Jasa Marga urged the public to prepare their journeys well during the long holiday period.
Toll road users are asked to ensure the condition of vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, to refuel sufficiently, and to ensure electronic money balances are available before entering the toll road.
In addition, drivers are reminded to always obey traffic signs and follow the instructions of on-site officers for collective safety. (ANTARA)
