Japek II South Ready to Accommodate Bandung-Jakarta Mudik Traffic Flow, Here is the Route

Ahead of the peak Eid al-Fitr mudik period in 2026, toll road managers are preparing traffic engineering measures to anticipate vehicle density. Additional contraflow lanes and certain access restrictions are being implemented to keep mudik journeys smooth.

Latest updates indicate that Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) Regional Division, along with PT Jasamarga Japek Selatan, under police discretion, began operating the functional Japek II South route on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at 09.55 WIB.

This is part of the services for the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026M mudik flow. The step is taken to anticipate the addition of contraflow lanes on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road towards Cikampek, which leaves only one lane for vehicles heading to Jakarta.

Therefore, road users from Bandung or Rancaekek heading to Jabodetabek are advised to use the functional Japek II South route.

This functional route can be accessed via the Sadang access at KM 77 on the Cipularang toll road towards Jakarta and can be traversed up to GT Bojongmangu. Road users can then continue their journey through the Delta Mas area and re-enter the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road via GT Cibatu.

“Road users taking the functional Japek II South route are not charged a fee and only pay the toll for the Cipularang toll road up to Sadang,” explained Panji Satriya, Head of the Marketing and Communication Department at Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, as quoted from a press release on Thursday, 19 March 2026.

“Because it functions as a functional route, road users are urged not to exceed 40 km/h, maintain a safe vehicle distance, pay attention to signs, and follow the instructions of on-site officers,” advised Widiyatmiko Nursejati, Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad.

Additionally, road users are reminded to ensure sufficient balance on their electronic cards for smooth travel. To monitor current traffic conditions, the public can access official Jasa Marga Group channels via the 24-hour one-call centre at 133, the official website, social media @official.jmmetropolitan, and the Travoy application.
