Japanese seeking business opportunities

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: A Japanese lawmaker and two businessmen met with Palembang government officials on Sunday night, in hopes of exploring investment opportunities in the city.

The lawmaker in question was a senator from Fujimi City, Ishikawa Shinichiro, and the two businessmen were Shinbori Naoki and Suzuki Yusihiro.

Responding to a statement by his guests, Palembang Mayor Eddy Santana Putra told them that some of the investment opportunities in the city included the hotel and restaurant sector, palm oil and rubber plantations as well as coal mining. -- JP
