Tokyo (ANTARA) - Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on Monday that she would consider holding high-level talks with Iranian leaders at the right time if it serves her country’s national interests. This was reported by Japanese media outlet Kyodo News, as tensions in the Middle East remain high. “I will assess the appropriate timing for talks based on national interests from a comprehensive perspective,” Takaichi stated during a meeting of the Budget Committee of Japan’s House of Representatives. Stability in the Middle East is vital for Japan, which depends on the region for more than 90 per cent of its crude oil imports.
