A number of ambassadors from friendly countries attended the 81st Anniversary Ceremony of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday (17/8/2026). The representatives of friendly countries conveyed their congratulations as well as their views on Indonesia’s journey over 81 years and their hopes for the future of bilateral relations.

Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia, Myochin Mitsuru, extended congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. Myochin assessed that relations between Indonesia and Japan have been strongly established in various fields and expressed hope that these relations can continue to be strengthened.

“I would like to convey my sincere congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. Indonesia and Japan have long maintained very close relations and bonds, whether historically, economically, or politically. Therefore, I would like to reaffirm our strong hope to further strengthen the relations between our two countries,” said Myochin at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, also conveyed congratulations from the government and people of Pakistan to Indonesia. According to him, Indonesia is an important country for Pakistan and the relationship between the two countries is based not only on friendship but also on closeness as brotherly nations.

“I would like to convey the best wishes from the government and people of Pakistan to the government and people of our friendly country, Indonesia,” said Zahid.

He also appreciated Indonesia’s development in the social and economic fields. Zahid specifically expressed appreciation for the vision of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in promoting economic growth while ensuring public welfare.

“In my view, Indonesia has shown remarkable progress, both in terms of social and economic development. I would like to specifically highlight the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. I am very impressed with his vision to advance the economy and, most importantly, to ensure the welfare of his people,” said Zahid.
