Japanese mission due here

JAKARTA (JP): Twenty members of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Shizuoka are expected to arrive here on Aug. 11 for a 10-day mission to improve trade and investment relations with Indonesia, an executive said.

"The delegates will visit trade exhibitions in Jakarta and Surabaya, East Java, to make business contacts with Indonesian counterparts and to study the possibilities of importing Indonesian products," Antara quoted an executive from the Japan External Trade Organization as saying in Tokyo yesterday.

The Japanese businessmen are particularly interested in importing textiles, garments and raw materials.

Shizuoka, a city between Tokyo and Nagoya, is a major producer of orange, tea, fish and processed food.(kol)
