Japanese ministry punishes Mitsubishi
TOKYO: Japan's transport ministry said on Friday it will
exclude Mitsubishi Motors and its truck-making affiliate from
public procurement bidding as a punitive measure following a
recall scandal.
"The measure took effect today, and will last for one and a
half years," a ministry official said.
The measure came a day after Japanese police raided the head
office of Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and
Bus Corp. and arrested seven former executives on suspicion of
covering up a fatal wheel-hub defect. -- AFP
