Japanese Investment Exploration in Jakarta Transport Projects a Good Opportunity

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A public policy observer from Trisakti University, Trubans Rahadiansyah, believes that the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to explore investment opportunities from Japan for strategic transport projects in DKI Jakarta represent an excellent opportunity.

“This is a very good opportunity in order to expand and accelerate public transport services in Jakarta,” said Trubus when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Furthermore, he explained that support from the central government and transparency to the public are key if the Jakarta Provincial Government wishes to realise these investment explorations from Japan.

“In my opinion, regarding these efforts to explore investment from Japan, if it is to be concretised, there must indeed be support from the central government,” said Trubus.

Trubus also views that Japanese investment exploration has the potential to create jobs for the community.

“This opens up wider opportunities, including employment and so on,” he said.

As information, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, Nurmala Kartini Pandjaitan Sjahrir, previously conducted a working visit to Jakarta to explore the potential for investment from Japan in several strategic projects in the province.

Additionally, the sister-province cooperation between Jakarta and Tokyo, which has been active since 1989, is strengthened by the presence of more than 10,000 Japanese citizens working in 1,500 companies in the capital.
