Japanese grant for the disabled
JAKARTA (JP): Japan yesterday extended a grant worth Rp 1.4 billion ($608,700) as part of its effort to develop a rehabilitation center for disabled people in Cibinong, West Java.
The money is to be allocated for providing the center's detailed design which is expected to be completed by the end of June. The center itself is planned to be completed and operational by 1998. It's running will be overseen by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The signing of the diplomatic notes for the grant was conducted yesterday by Japanese Ambassador Taizo Watanabe and the Indonesian foreign ministry's Director General for Economic Relations Soemadi Brotodiningrat at the Pancasila Building, Central Jakarta, yesterday. (mds)
