Japanese FM to visit Indonesia
JAKARTA: Japanese foreign minister Yuriko Kawaguchi is slated to make a three-day official visit to Indonesia starting on Tuesday, the Japanese embassy said.
It said that during his visit Kawaguchi would discuss with Indonesian government officials the Japan-Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) Commemorative Summit in Tokyo on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12.
The embassy said the Japanese officials would brief Indonesian media regarding the summit on the sidelines of the minister's visit.
Kawaguchi is also scheduled to discuss bilateral relations with her Indonesian counterpart Hassan Wirayuda.
President Megawati Soekarnoputri as president of ASEAN is slated to co-host the summit with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. --JP.
