Japanese donation for schools
BANJARMASIN, S. Kalimantan: The Japanese government is assisting in the construction of four junior high schools in remote areas of South Kalimantan.
Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture's provincial office, Aspul Fansuri, told Antara the donation from the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund would supplement the Rp 2 billion ($770,000) school project.
The new schools would support the government's efforts to provide wider access to education for people in the remotest areas, Aspul said.
The four new schools would be built in Barito Kuala, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Tanah Laut and Kota Baru regencies. (09)
