Japanese, Asean youth to visit museum
MANADO, North Sulawesi: As many as 350 youths from Japan and
Asean countries are scheduled to visit the city's state museum on
Oct. 2, to view historical objects from colonial times.
The museum curator, K. Pantouw said here Saturday that
arrangements have been made to welcome the overseas visitors so
they may gain a comprehensive understanding of the objects stored
in the museum.
Pantouw revealed that the museum boasted a collection of 2812
objects consisting of around 10 types of geological, biological
and ethnographic elements.
He further explained that 20,000 visitors, including many from
Korea, visited the museum in 1988 to have a close look at the
objects that bore similarities to those in their country.
Pantouw said the museum was a proper place to study the
historical evidence of human culture, nature and environment.
