Japanese artist holds concert for Aceh

The InterContinental Resort Bali held a charity concert for Aceh
on on Saturday featuring famous Japanese traditional musician
Atsuko Suetomi.

At the concert, held in the resort's Saraswati Lounge, Suetomi
played a selection of unique ancient Japanese music to a packed
audience.

A regular international performer, Suetomi is well-known for
her altruism and has performed in many charity concerts in Asia,
the United States and South America.

The concert, which visibly mesmirized members of the audience,
included the compositions Rokudan no Shirabe by Kenko Yatsuhashi
and Tadao Sawai's Sakura-Sakura and Tori no Youni.

For her commitment to encouraging traditional and ethnic music
and her dedicated efforts in helping the needy, Suetomi has been
honored with a special award from the National Music Academy of
Peru.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the victims of
tsunami in Aceh and North Sumatra. --JP
