Japan LDP to meet Habibie
TOKYO (Reuters): A mission from Japan's ruling Liberal
Democratic Party, led by former finance minister Yoshiro Hayashi,
will visit Indonesia soon and meet new President B.J. Habibie,
LDP sources said yesterday.
The sources said Hayashi's group would probably visit
Indonesia in early June and would gather information on what
Japan can do for Indonesia after Habibie's replacement of former
leader Soeharto last week.
It was not clear how long the trip would last or what other
LDP members would participate, the sources said.
