Japan gives seven ambulances to Aceh
JAKARTA: The Japanese government handed over on Wednesday seven ambulances, medicine and medical equipment for a mobile clinic aimed at providing health and medical services for Acehnese in remote areas of the troubled province.
The donation, which was handed over by Japanese Consul General in Medan Hiroharu Hashi, was channeled through the Muhammadiyah Youth Humanitarian Assistance Committee in Aceh.
The group proposed the project to the Japanese government to provide basic health services to people, the Embassy of Japan said in a statement. -- JP
