Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Bogor Police uncovered 113 drug and certain controlled medicines (OKT) cases during the period from January to May 2026, with a total of 155 suspects arrested.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto at the Bogor Police Headquarters in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, stated that of the total suspects, 149 were men and six were women.

“During the period from January to May 2026, there were a total of 113 cases uncovered with an overall 155 suspects,” said Wikha.

He explained that of all the cases uncovered, 48 suspects were involved in methamphetamine cases, five in cannabis cases, 23 in synthetic tobacco cases, and 79 in OKT cases.

Wikha said the evidence seized consisted of 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2.9 kilograms of cannabis, 1.8 kilograms of synthetic tobacco, and 50,228 OKT pills. In addition, the Bogor Police also confiscated 9,468 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages from various raid locations in Bogor Regency.

According to Wikha, all the seized evidence is estimated to be worth around Rp3 billion and is considered capable of saving approximately 50,000 lives from the dangers of drug abuse.

“From the uncovering of these 113 cases, the Bogor Police received the predicate of second place for the most drug cases uncovered at the level of police resorts under the West Java Police,” he said.

He stated that one of the main focuses in these uncoverings was the circulation of OKT, which is considered related to the prevalence of brawls and robbery actions in Bogor Regency.

“Many cases of fights, brawls, then robberies, where before committing criminal acts, the perpetrators used or abused OKT,” he said.

In the last month, the task force successfully uncovered 45 cases with 55 suspects and seized 42,801 OKT pills.

Wikha explained that the perpetrators used various modi operandi, from disguising sales in grocery stores, cosmetic shops, to mobile phone credit shops, as well as “COD” system transactions on the streets.

The narcotics case suspects are charged under Article 114 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics with a penalty of five to 20 years in prison and fines of Rp1 billion to Rp3 billion.

Meanwhile, OKT case suspects are charged under Articles 435 and 436 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 17 of 2023 on Health with a penalty of five to 12 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp5 billion.

Meanwhile, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto emphasised that the Bogor Regency Government together with the Forkopimda will continue to strengthen the war against narcotics and prohibited drugs in its territory.

“This is not the end, but the task force we formed together will continue to work to eradicate the narcotics and prohibited drugs in Bogor Regency,” said Rudy.
