Jamsostek hands over funds to blast victims

State-owned PT Jamsostek has paid to the families a total of Rp
116.4 million (US$12,523) for three workers who were killed in
the powerful bomb explosion in front of the Australian Embassy on
Thursday.
Jamsostek's operations director Indra Haryadi handed over Rp
43.6 million to Syaefuddin through his wife Nur Qomariah before
the victim's funeral at the Budhi Darma public cemetery in
Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Friday.
Syaefuddin was an employee of the BII Finance Center with the
gross monthly salary of Rp 990,000.
Indra also gave Rp 35.7 million to Anton Sujarwo through his
father Komarun in Jatibaru, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta.
Anton, a security guard at the Australian Embassy, died at the
age of 23 and was not married.
Jamsostek also paid Rp 37 million to Suryadi who was employed
by PT Environmental Indo Karya as a gardener at the Australian
Embassy. The money was handed over to Suryadi's wife Yuni at the
latter's house in Manggarai, South Jakarta
In addition, Jamsostek has so far identified 15 injured
victims who were part of its social welfare plan and should
receive occupational accident funds.
"We are still making contact with the injured victims'
employers and families to set the time when the money will be
handed over. We are trying to get them their money as soon as
possible to help the victims' families," said Indra.
The 15 victims were Ramdani, employed by PT Bina Karsa
Swadaya), Reza (PT Bina Karsa Swadaya), Cindy Siauw (Rabo Bank),
Suwedi and Maulana (PT Tri Dharma Sakti Indah), Samin, Nani,
Syarif, Sarno, Budi Santoso, all the five at PT Muialand, Satria
Utami, Indria and Biswa, all the four employed by FCB
Advertising), Tine (PT Para Citra Abadi) and Ani Subarni (PT
Energy Equity).
The bomb blast killed at least nine and wounded more than 160
others.
