Jampidsus Seizes Assets of Company Owned by Corruption Suspect Samin Tan
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has once again seized assets belonging to suspect Samin Tan (ST) in connection with coal mining corruption in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) and South Kalimantan (Kalsel). The Special Criminal Prosecution Team of the Deputy Attorney General (Jampidsus) this time seized assets of PT MCM, affiliated with PT Asmin Kaolindo Tuhup (AKT) owned by Samin Tan.
Head of the Public Relations and Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna explained that the seized assets, estimated to be worth hundreds of billions or even trillions, consist of both movable and immovable items. These include heavy equipment used for illegal coal mining, as well as seized mining products.
“Regarding these seized assets, approval has been granted by the local chief judge, and they will subsequently be managed by the Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Agency (BPA),” Anang stated in a press release on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
The seized items include 47 buildings located at PT MCM’s site in Kaong Village, Upau Subdistrict, Tabalong, South Kalimantan. Investigators also seized the main office building area of PT AKT in Central Kalimantan, along with three generator units, one forklift unit, one generator tank, and one control panel.
Investigators further seized around 60,000 metric tons (MT) of coal stored in the stockpile coal handling processing facility in Tumbang Baung Village, Laung Tuhup, Murung Raya, belonging to PT AKT in Central Kalimantan.
At the same location, investigators seized seven mining heavy equipment units and one giant truck for transporting mining results, one fuel filler truck, one conveyor, as well as four generators and three fuel filling stations.
Still at the mining site, 37 heavy equipment units for the mining process were also seized, along with 20 lighting plant units, one lighting power unit, one fuel filling tank, one compressor, and four heavy equipment pieces still in assembly function.
At the PT AKT office location, investigators seized one mining work room. They also seized 40 heavy equipment units, seven lighting towers, one light pick-up vehicle, three welding machines, one compactor, one line boring machine, and one CNC machine.
In addition, seizures were carried out on assets at PT AKT’s stockpile, consisting of one crusher machine, five heavy equipment units, and 14 hauling trucks. At the fuel filling location, five large fuel filling tanks were seized, along with four transport and fuel filling trucks.
