Jampidsus Resigns, DPR: Law Enforcement Must Not Slacken
Habiburokhman, chair of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), has commented on the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). He affirmed that law enforcement must continue to investigate the alleged corruption cases.
“This resignation must not slacken or halt the ongoing law enforcement efforts,” he said in a statement on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
The legal affairs commission will form a supervisory team. Habiburokhman said this reflects his commission’s commitment to ensuring the case is investigated thoroughly. “We in Commission III will continue to ensure that the oversight function runs optimally,” he said.
In addition, he called on the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office and the Indonesian National Armed Forces to remain solid and work in synergy. He said the three institutions must share a single vision in ensuring the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes, particularly in eradicating corruption.
Moreover, he said, the alleged corruption currently under police investigation did not stem from institutional policy, but rather involved individuals or rogue elements.
“Therefore, there must be absolutely no confrontation or conflict of sectional ego between institutions,” said the Gerindra Party politician.
Earlier, the announcement of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation was delivered by Anang Supriatna, head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, in the early hours of Saturday, 11 July 2026.
The resignation came after Febrie Adriansyah’s name was dragged into alleged corruption cases at PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and a coal supply corruption case that caused power blackouts in Sumatra.
All three cases are currently under police investigation. Febrie Adriansyah denied any involvement in the cases at a press conference held at his office at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Friday, 10 July 2026.
Anang said law enforcement at the Attorney General’s Office would not be disrupted by Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation as Jampidsus. “The Attorney General’s Office ensures that all duties, functions and case handling within the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes can continue normally,” Anang said on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
In the case implicating Febrie, police searched 13 locations, including his house in Sentul, Bogor. At the house, 74 kg of gold bullion and around Rp 476 billion in cash were found stored in a safe hidden in a wooden wall.
The police also searched Cafe de’Clan Signature on Jalan Cilandak Tengah, Cipete, South Jakarta. The cafe was previously the site of surveillance on Febrie conducted by members of the Special Detachment 88 counter-terrorism unit. That surveillance took place on Sunday, 19 May 2024 at around 20:00 WIB. Febrie was known to frequent the restaurant. From the cafe, police seized around Rp 60 billion in cash kept in a small safe hidden behind a two-metre-tall safe on the cafe’s second floor.
