Jampidsus Resigns, DPR: Law Enforcement Must Not Slacken

The Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), Habiburokhman, has responded to the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah as the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). He stressed that law enforcement must continue to investigate the alleged corruption cases. “This resignation must not slacken or halt the ongoing law enforcement process,” he said in a statement on Saturday, 11 July 2026. The commission overseeing legal affairs will form a supervisory team. Habiburokhman stated this is part of his commission’s commitment to ensuring the case is investigated thoroughly. “We in Commission III will continue to ensure the supervisory function runs optimally,” he said. He also urged the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Indonesian National Armed Forces to remain solid and synergise. He said the three institutions must share a single vision in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s programmes, particularly in eradicating corruption. Moreover, he noted that the alleged corruption currently being investigated by the police was not an institutional policy, but rather involved individuals or rogue elements. “Therefore, there must be absolutely no confrontation or sectoral ego conflicts between institutions,” said the Gerindra Party politician. The resignation of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah was previously announced by the Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, in the early hours of Saturday, 11 July 2026. The resignation follows Adriansyah’s implication in alleged corruption cases at PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and coal supply corruption that caused power outages in Sumatra. These three cases are currently being investigated by the police. Febrie Adriansyah denied any involvement in the cases during a press conference held at his office in the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Friday, 10 July 2026. Anang stated that the law enforcement process at the Attorney General’s Office would not be disrupted by Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation. “The Attorney General’s Office ensures that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes can proceed as normal,” Anang said on Saturday, 11 July 2026. In the case implicating Febrie, police searched 13 locations, including Febrie’s house in Sentul, Bogor. At the residence, officers found 74 kilogrammes of gold bars and approximately Rp 476 billion in cash stored in a safe hidden behind a wooden wall. Police also searched Cafe de’Clan Signature on Jalan Cilandak Tengah, Cipete, South Jakarta. This cafe was once the site of surveillance on Febrie conducted by members of the Special Anti-terror Detachment (Densus 88). The surveillance occurred on Sunday, 19 May 2024, at around 8 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. Febrie was known to frequent the restaurant. From the cafe, police seized approximately Rp 60 billion in cash found in a small safe stored behind a 2-metre-high safe on the second floor of the cafe.
