The resignation of Febrie Adriansyah as the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) has not yet been approved by President Prabowo Subianto. Although the Attorney General’s Office has accepted his resignation, the President has not issued a presidential decree (Keppres) regarding his dismissal as Jampidsus, as a prosecutor, or as a civil servant.

This was conveyed by the Junior Attorney General for Supervision, Rudi Margono, who is currently serving as the acting Jampidsus. ‘I was appointed, receiving a mandate from God through the Attorney General, to carry out the technical managerial duties as Jampidsus,’ Rudi said following a joint press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Saturday (11/7/2026).

The joint press conference announced that Febrie, along with another individual identified as DR, had been named suspects in corruption cases related to coal procurement for power plants, the Asabri and Jiwasraya scandals, and Krakatau Steel. The investigation is being handled by a joint team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps. The announcement of the suspects was delivered directly by the Head of the Corruption Eradication Corps, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, alongside Rudi Margono and the Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Habiburokhman.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin was not present at the announcement. Rudi stated that the allegations against Febrie prompted him to resign from his position as Jampidsus. ‘He has already resigned. Now we are just waiting for the presidential decree,’ Rudi said. He explained the state administrative mechanism requires the President to appoint and dismiss a prosecutor as Jampidsus through a Keppres. ‘Formally, we are still waiting for the official resignation decree from the President. An appointment requires a Keppres, and the resignation also requires one,’ Rudi stated. He added that President Prabowo will ultimately decide whether Febrie’s resignation is accepted or rejected. ‘Whether his resignation is approved by the President or not, we are waiting. If approved, then there will be a Keppres for his dismissal,’ Rudi concluded.

Febrie Adriansyah submitted his resignation as Jampidsus on Saturday evening (11/7/2027). The move came after he held a press conference on Friday (10/7/2026) responding to his current legal situation.
