Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah Denies Coal Corruption Allegations
Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah, has firmly dismissed various issues linking him to alleged coal corruption. Febrie stated that his office remains focused on overseeing the handling of strategic cases, especially safeguarding natural resources (SDA) and supporting the government’s priority programmes.
During a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Friday (10/7), Febrie emphasised that the ‘Round Building’ is concentrating on resolving cases concerning national interests and the livelihoods of the wider community. This is being carried out in accordance with the President’s directives and orders.
“The Round Building is currently focused on completing the handling of cases concerning the interests of the nation and the livelihoods of our people, as well as supporting national priority programmes,” Febrie said.
Efforts to safeguard natural resources are one of Jampidsus’s top priorities. According to Febrie, this step demonstrates the Attorney General’s Office’s commitment to building a clean government with integrity, as well as providing a sustainable deterrent effect against perpetrators of corruption.
In addition to enforcement, the Attorney General’s Office, through the Forest Area Control Task Force, continues to optimise state revenue. Steps taken include collecting administrative fines and pursuing criminal charges against companies that fail to meet their obligations to the state.
Febrie also affirmed the Attorney General’s Office’s full support for the success of national strategic programmes, such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme and the Merah Putih village/sub-district cooperatives. The Attorney General’s Office is committed to ensuring every programme runs effectively, accountably, and provides tangible benefits to the community.
Regarding legal processes that may involve other agencies, Febrie stated that the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office respects every law enforcement process as long as it is carried out in accordance with the applicable procedural law. He urged the public to be wise in responding to circulating information and to rely on complete facts.
“The Attorney General’s Office will continue to carry out its duties and authorities professionally, independently, and responsibly,” he concluded, while inviting the public to maintain a healthy law enforcement climate.
