Kupang (ANTARA) - PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Persero), or Jamkrindo, has distributed an initial phase of humanitarian aid for communities affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Jamkrindo President Director Abdul Bari, in a statement received on Sunday evening, said the assistance reflects the company’s concern and commitment to supporting communities impacted by the disaster.

“This assistance is an initial step in Jamkrindo’s concern for communities affected by the disaster in NTT. We want to ensure that the company is present to provide support amid difficult conditions,” he said.

Abdul Bari said the aid, consisting of basic necessities, was handed over through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) for subsequent distribution to the disaster site in Flores.

He said Jamkrindo will continue to monitor developments in conditions and the needs of communities on the ground as a basis for determining the next form of assistance.

According to him, post-disaster handling requires synergy and mutual cooperation from various parties so that aid can be delivered broadly and on target.

“We believe that post-disaster handling cannot be done alone. A spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration is needed so that the support provided can be broader and better targeted,” he added.

Abdul Bari said Jamkrindo is open to continuing its support through company programmes or collaborating with stakeholders and other parties concerned about affected communities.

“Jamkrindo is ready to play its part according to the capacity and needs that exist,” he said.

The distribution of aid is part of Jamkrindo’s commitment to carrying out its social and environmental responsibilities sustainably.

As a guarantee company within the Danantara ecosystem and part of the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) Holding, Jamkrindo continues to expand its contribution to society through social, empowerment and humanitarian programmes.

Through a spirit of wholehearted service, Jamkrindo is committed to continuing to provide benefits to the community, including supporting the recovery process of communities affected by the disaster in NTT.
