Jamintel Reda: Cooperatives Become Village Business Ecosystems in Line with Asta Cita
Junior Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) at the Attorney General’s Office, Reda Manthovani, received the Bakti Koperasi Pradana Nayaka award at the 2026 Koperasi Awards. Reda admitted he was both confused and moved to receive an award in the field of cooperatives.
The 2026 Koperasi Awards was held at the St Regis Hotel, South Jakarta, on Thursday evening (20/8/2026). The award was presented directly by Halida Hatta, daughter of the Father of Indonesian Cooperatives, Mohammad Hatta.
“I am also moved and confused, why would a prosecutor receive a Koperasi Award,” said Reda Manthovani during his acceptance speech.
Reda felt he was not yet fully deserving of the award. He said the steps he had taken were merely efforts to implement President Prabowo Subianto’s vision as set out in the Asta Cita.
“Actually, I am not yet worthy of receiving this. Because, to be honest with all of you, I am only applying President Prabowo’s thinking in Asta Cita number 6, building from the village, building from the bottom up for the welfare of the people or society,” said Reda.
Reda explained that his involvement began with the ‘Jaga Desa’ programme run by the Attorney General’s Office. Through that programme, he synergised with the Ministry of Cooperatives to monitor financial governance at the village level.
However, President Prabowo’s vision then developed towards strengthening the economy through the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP) programme. This is what he then tried to realise in the form of a tangible ecosystem on the ground.
“Ultimately, what came to my mind? That cooperatives are a business or enterprise ecosystem in the village that is in line with the Asta Cita. How to realise it in a real context? In the end, the Minister of Cooperatives and I travelled to several regions,” Reda recounted.
One of the pilot projects he focused on is in Tangerang Regency. There, Reda said, KDMP was trialled as integrated with various economic sectors, from livestock to agriculture, through the use of CSR funds.
“Next to the cooperative, we mobilised the community to raise 1,000 laying hens. There is also assistance from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, mini rice-fish ponds for fish. The produce can be sold directly to the Red and White Cooperative, which is not far away,” he explained.
Not only that, Reda said the ecosystem also supports another national programme, namely Free Nutritious Meals (MBG). Agricultural produce such as shallots from the empowered land also enters the cooperative ecosystem.
“Nearby there is also an SPPG for the MBG (Free Nutritious Meals) kitchen. So it all circulates. This is the ecosystem that I see in Mr Prabowo’s thinking, which I have tried to apply on a small scale here. Even though this is not the prosecutor’s remit,” he joked.
Reda hopes the simple concept that has been applied in Tangerang Regency and Central Kalimantan can be replicated in other regions of Indonesia.
“My hope, once again, is that this simple concept can be spread, copied and pasted to other regions so that the KDMP cooperatives built by the Minister of Cooperatives and his staff can be strengthened with a healthy and prosperous economic ecosystem for all the people of Indonesia,” Reda concluded.
