Jamintel: Public Can Report MBG Through Jaga Desa App
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) of the Attorney General’s Office, Reda Manthovani, stated that the public can report the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme through the Jaksa Garda Desa (Jaga Desa) app.
Reda explained that MBG beneficiaries can directly report the products they receive, with reports in the form of photos to verify whether the food meets quality standards or the per-serving budget.
“A link is provided to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries are teachers and students. Through that link, they upload videos or photos of the product. If it’s spoiled, they say it’s spoiled. ‘Wow, this is less than Rp10,000, just rice and potatoes,’ with a photo,” said Reda while attending the Jaga Desa Award 2026 in Jakarta on Sunday (19/4) evening.
He explained that the Jaga Desa app is a digital innovation by the Attorney General’s Office integrated with the Village Financial System (Siskeudes). According to him, through this app, prosecutorial intelligence can conduct monitoring.
However, to double-check the accuracy of reports, the Attorney General’s Office collaborates with the Association of Village Consultative Bodies (Abpednas). Abpednas members in villages will be empowered to monitor on-site.
“If it’s true, then it’s good. There’s village financial governance that’s well monitored and verified. Then, there are developments where there are government products, namely MBG,” he said.
He explained that this scheme has already begun, such as in Pacitan, East Java. From public reports, the Attorney General’s Office investigates and reports further to the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) so that the relevant Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) can be followed up.
“There are already reports, for example in Pacitan recently, the product was like this, poor quality, and so on. Immediately report, we directly remind the school or also report to BGN to impose sanctions on the SPPG. The sanctions could be, first, perhaps a warning. It could also be suspended,” said Reda.
He explained that the Jaga Desa app is being implemented gradually, and most villages on Java Island are already using it.
“But we’ve handed over almost all the links. Hopefully, it can be evenly distributed,” he said.
Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana, who also attended the event, said that Jaga Desa can add to the oversight mechanisms for the MBG programme.
According to him, the Jaga Desa app is relevant to the MBG programme because it allows various aspects of village development, including the use of funds from public money, to be monitored digitally.
Dadan mentioned that 93 percent of BGN’s budget for MBG is transferred to virtual accounts of SPPGs across Indonesia, which are mostly located in villages.
“With the cooperation between BGN and the Attorney General’s Office, I think the oversight related to the utilisation of funds in virtual accounts at each SPPG will be even more intensive,” he said.
