The Deputy Prosecutor General for Intelligence (Jamintel) at Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office, Reda Manthovani, attended a consolidation meeting of the National Association of Village Deliberative Bodies (Abpednas) in Karawang District at the KIIC industrial zone. The meeting served as a social action initiative for the community and inclusive education in the Karawang region.

The event was attended by the Karawang Regent, the Head of the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office, and leaders of Abpednas chapters across Karawang District. Reda emphasised the urgency of the Jaksa Garda Desa (Village Guardian Prosecutor) programme as a vital instrument to ensure that village fund allocations are used appropriately and effectively.

“The Jaga Desa programme aims to ensure that state budget spending is appropriate and targeted. We want prosecutors to be friends with village officials in seeking legal consultation, so we can reduce the number of village officials who face criminal charges due to regulatory ignorance,” Reda said in a statement on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

Reda and Karawang District Prosecutor Dedy Irwan Virantama also symbolically handed over educational teaching aids to five special schools (SLB) in Karawang District. This assistance aims to support teaching facilities for students with special needs, ensuring they receive equal and quality education rights.

“This step demonstrates that the Prosecutor’s Office has a humanitarian side that cares about the development of the nation’s generation across all levels of society,” he added.

The event also hosted a discount marketplace in the KIIC area to help the surrounding community obtain basic necessities at affordable prices. The affordable market initiative is expected to ease the economic burden on residents whilst demonstrating that synergy between law enforcement officials and local government can deliver immediate welfare benefits.

Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh expressed high appreciation for Jamintel’s attention to Karawang District.

“We are very grateful to Jamintel for implementing the Jaga Desa programme in Karawang. His presence provides security for our village officials, in addition to the assistance for special needs school children and this affordable marketplace. This is a comprehensive collaboration between law enforcement and community service,” said Aep.

West Java High Prosecutor Hermon Dekristo also affirmed his commitment to ensuring that all prosecutor offices across West Java continue supporting these collaborative initiatives.

“We are fully committed to collaborating with local government and Abpednas for village progress. The Prosecutor’s Office presence must be felt concretely, both through continuous legal education and social action that directly addresses community needs,” he said.
