Jambi seeks cargo flights to Singapore
JAMBI City, Jambi: The Jambi provincial administration is
exploring the possibility of opening a cargo flight route between
the Kerinci district and Singapore to help accelerate economic
growth, says governor Zulkifli Nurdin.
"The Kerinci regency has many commodities for export but these
cannot be developed because of the absence of air transportation
connecting the regency with Singapore or Malaysia. That is why we
are studying ways to realize it," he said here on Monday.
Kerinci has agricultural and fishery products besides
beautiful natural surroundings that could be developed for the
tourism industry.
"Kerinci which faces the Riau archipelago and Singapore has
vegetables, fruits and fish for export," he said. --Antara
