The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Jambi City Government. The cooperation covers information and communication technology (ICT) as well as urban development.

Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung said the Jakarta provincial government is opening opportunities for the Jambi city government to study various programmes and management practices that have been implemented in Jakarta. One of these relates to the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) application.

“Today, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is cooperating with the Jambi City Government. This cooperation relates to Information Communication Technology and also several other matters including how to develop their respective cities,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (31/8/2026).

Pramono said his administration is also offering cooperation between regional-owned enterprises (BUMD). According to him, BUMDs in Jambi can learn from the BUMDs owned by the Jakarta provincial government.

“We also conveyed that in addition to that, it relates to other BUMDs, whether with Cipinang Food Station, with Sarana Jaya, with Dharma Jaya and so on. We are open to that because we know that Jambi is currently developing,” he said.

In addition, Pramono invited the Jambi city government to study the implementation of JAKI. He hopes the collaboration can be followed up in various fields.

“Earlier during the bilateral meeting, I conveyed to the Mayor that he is welcome if Jambi City wants to learn about JAKI,” he said.

On the other hand, he also touched on the concept of creative financing. He assessed that this scheme can be an alternative for regional governments to finance development without fully depending on the regional budget (APBD).

“We also discussed creative financing. I am confident this is a new way for regional governments to have room to develop their respective regions. And if creative financing can work in Jakarta, hopefully it can also become a role model for other regions,” he explained.

On the same occasion, Jambi Mayor Maulana welcomed the cooperation with the Jakarta provincial government. He said Jambi wants to learn a lot from Jakarta, especially in the management of BUMDs.

“We, Jambi City as the provincial capital, want to learn a lot. The first is how BUMDs in DKI Jakarta are so advanced that they provide support for locally generated revenue (PAD) and continue to help together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government,” Maulana said.

According to Maulana, Jambi currently has BUMDs that are still relatively new. Therefore, he wants Jambi’s BUMDs to learn and collaborate with BUMDs owned by DKI Jakarta.

“We have new BUMDs, and while they are new they must learn, and thank God the Governor has provided the widest possible room. All of our BUMDs will try to learn together with the BUMDs in DKI Jakarta,” he said.

Maulana also highlighted the management of Jakarta’s drinking water company. He noted that the revenue of the drinking water company in Jambi is currently around Rp 7 billion per year, while the one in Jakarta is said to have reached trillions of rupiah.

“Including what was special earlier, the Governor also conveyed the progress of PDAM, the Regional Drinking Water Company, which we will also study after this, God willing, because its revenue is so high, contributing to PAD. We are only at Rp 7 billion a year, here it has already risen to trillions. Extraordinary,” he said.

Not only regarding BUMDs, the Jambi city government also wants to strengthen cooperation in fire prevention. Maulana said the Jambi fire brigade has been sending personnel to train together with the DKI Jakarta fire brigade team.

“There are so many extraordinary benefits. We ask for your support and guidance, Sir. We will continue to enter into cooperation agreements with other fields suggested by the Governor earlier because we really need it,” he concluded.
