A hajj pilgrim from Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, named Khairusni Bilal Usman (67), part of Kloter BTH-19, passed away at the Arafah tent accommodation in Saudi Arabia due to a heart attack.

The health team in Saudi Arabia, Fuji Ramdhani, reported in a chronology received in Jambi: ‘Upon arrival and initial examination, the patient had no pulse, and three cycles of cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR) were performed, but there was no response.’

According to the chronology, the deceased passed away on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, around 21:30 Saudi time. She was with her husband in the Arafah maktab tent when she suddenly complained of weakness and breathing difficulties before losing consciousness.

After receiving reports from other pilgrims, the kloter health team rushed to the location for initial examination. However, no pulse was detected, and medical staff immediately initiated emergency measures.

Shortly after, the Sector Health Team and Indonesian Hajj Health clinic (KKHI) arrived to provide additional assistance. Further actions were taken, including the use of an automated external defibrillator ( AED).

The death certificate issued by the Indonesian embassy’s medical team, in accordance with ICD-10 international standards, listed acute heart disorder as the primary cause of death.

Medical records in Saudi Arabia showed the deceased had sought health services twice: on 16 May 2026 for dyspepsia and on 22 May 2026 for lower back pain.

Jambi Regional Office of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) Head Wahyudi Abdul Wahab stated that as part of their responsibility to pilgrims who pass away before completing all haj rituals, the Hajj Implementation Committee (PPIH) ensures the pilgrimage is formally completed by an appointed official.

‘We extend condolences to the family of the late Khairusni Bilal Usman from Kerinci Regency. May she attain Husnul khatimah and may all her sins be forgiven,’ Wahyudi said.
