Jambi director to appeal in graft case

JAMBI: Operational director of Jambi provincial administration company PT Jambi Indoguna International (JII), M. Sajuri, was sentenced to one year and six-months imprisonment and ordered to pay a Rp 10 million (US$1,111) fine by the Jambi court on Friday.

"He was charged in accordance with Law No. 31/1999 article 3 on corruption," said court spokesman Djatmiko Girsang on Saturday.

But Sajuri, who was on trial in a corruption case that inflicted Rp 5.6 billion in losses on the company has appealed the verdict. -- JP
