Jambi City Government Holds Business Forum and Investment Award 2026 to Strengthen Partnerships and Promote Sustainable Investment
Jambi – As a form of appreciation and recognition for investors, business operators, and the business community in Tanah Pilih Pusako Batuah, the Jambi City Government held the Business Forum and the Jambi City Investment Award 2026 on Wednesday evening (20 May 2026) at the Griya Mayang Hall, Jambi Mayor’s Residence.
Under the theme “Strengthening Partnerships, Promoting Sustainable Investment, Realising a Happy Jambi City”, the event was lively and full of collaborative spirit, with the Mayor of Jambi, Dr. dr. H. Maulana, M.K.M., together with the Deputy Mayor Diza Hazra Aljosha, S.E., M.A., in attendance, who also presented the Investment Award to several companies and business operators deemed to have contributed greatly to investment growth and the economic development of Jambi City.
Also present were Deflinur Rizky Novhamzah, S.T., M.M., M.Sc, Director of Enterprise Empowerment at the Ministry of Investment and Hilirisasi/BKPM RI; Tedy Arief Budiman, Head of the BI Representative for Jambi Province; Saiful Roswandi, S.Pd.I., M.H, Head of the Ombudsman Representative for Jambi Province; Septarini Geminastitie, Deputy Head of OJK Jambi; the jajarForkopimda City of Jambi; regional device heads, Camats (sub-district heads) across Jambi; banking leaders, business associations, and investors.
The Investment Award was presented to business players in three categories: the category of Business Compliance in Submitting the Investment Activity Report (LKPM); the highest realised investment; and the business players who absorbed the most local labour. The awards were given in order to build a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable investment ecosystem.
The Mayor Maulana emphasised that the Jambi City Government continues to open up space for investors to inject capital into Jambi City, thus affecting the circulation of the economy and helping to reduce unemployment through the creation of jobs.
“Jambi City is a trading and service city, so we roll out the red carpet for investors who will invest; this is the direction of Jambi City development going forward. We want to ensure that the growth of the economy is truly supported by strong partnerships, quality investment, and development that can bring welfare to all members of society,” he said.
The Jambi City Government continues to strive to create a conducive investment climate through various strategic steps, including digital-based licensing service acceleration; increased legal certainty and ease of doing business; infrastructure and city connectivity development; strengthening the creative economy and SMEs; and development of modern and integrated trading and service areas.
Maulana noted that the Business Forum and the Jambi City Investment Award 2026 is a strategic move by the City Government to empower the community and promote regional investment as an annual agenda to build stronger communication and partnerships between the government and the business world.
“We congratulate the award recipients. With investment continuing to rise, this will create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen partnerships with micro and small businesses. This is important because Jambi City is a trading and services city,” he said.
During the event, Mayor Maulana also disclosed positive achievements in Jambi City’s development throughout 2025 despite global economic challenges and national dynamics. The City of Jambi is considered to have maintained momentum in regional economic growth.
Jambi City’s economic growth rose from 4.88 percent in 2024 to 5.13 percent in 2025. Per capita income increased from around Rp68.5 million to Rp73.6 million per year. In addition, the poverty rate was reduced to 7.69 percent, the open unemployment rate fell to around 7.08 percent, and the Jambi City Human Development Index reached 82.32.
These achievements could not be separated from the contributions of business players and investors who continue to trust Jambi City as an investment destination and a growth hub in the Jambi Province. Therefore, to support a more conducive investment climate, the Jambi City Government continues to implement various strategic steps, including digital-based licensing service acceleration, increased legal certainty and ease of doing business, infrastructure and city connectivity development, strengthening the creative economy and SMEs, and the development of modern and integrated trading and service areas.
“The city is also grateful that the regional original revenue (PAD) of Jambi City in 2025 successfully exceeded targets, reaching around Rp. 615 billion or 101.45 percent of the target set,” he added.
He emphasised that future investment is not only about capital and economic gains but must also be able to create jobs, strengthen regional competitiveness, support green and digital economic transformation, empower local SMEs, and maintain environmental and social balance.
Therefore, the Jambi City Government encourages investment that is sustainable, inclusive, and adds value for the people.
Meanwhile, Deflinur Rizky Novhamzah of the BKPM RI expressed appreciation for Jambi City’s progressive steps in building a regional investment ecosystem. According to him, Jambi City has positive signals and a new energy in investment development, particularly through an integrated electronic service system and the strengthening of the creative economy as well as the tourism sector.
“I see a new energy
