Jambi City Government extends distance learning until 2 September

The Mayor of Jambi, Maulana, has extended the implementation of Distance Learning (PJJ) for students at the TK/PAUD, primary, and junior high school levels in the city from 31 August to 2 September 2026, in order to anticipate the impact of air pollution on student health.

This policy is outlined in the Jambi Mayor’s Circular Letter (SE) Number 24 of 2026 regarding the Anticipation of the Impact of Air Pollution on Teaching and Learning Activities within Jambi City Educational Units.

“Online distance learning is extended from 31 August 2026 until 2 September 2026,” said Mayor Maulana.

He stated that this measure will remain in effect until air quality conditions are declared safe for the resumption of face-to/face learning.

Maulana requested that educational units ensure teaching and learning activities remain effective during the distance learning period, and that headmasters and teachers continue to perform their school duties by providing learning materials online.

He also requested that parents or guardians supervise and assist their children while they participate in learning from home.

“Class teachers and subject teachers are required to report the implementation of distance learning as well as the health status of students to the head of the educational unit,” said Maulana.

Heads of educational units are also required to monitor developments in air quality and student health, reporting back to the Mayor of Jambi through the Jambi City Education Office.

“Face-to-face learning will be readjusted based on the development of air quality and environmental conditions,” concluded Mayor Maulana.
