Jamal Mirdad Hopes Prabowo's Leadership Will Bring Progress to Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Jamal Mirdad has expressed hope that the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be able to propel Indonesia towards becoming a more advanced nation while safeguarding peace.
Jamal said national leadership needs to be directed towards strengthening Indonesia’s progress while continuing to make peace an important part of development.
“What is certain is that together with the President, of course, and we also elected the President and Vice President to be leaders who are more engaged, more extraordinary, more advanced. For peace,” Jamal said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.
The statement was made ahead of President Prabowo’s speech as part of the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Regional Representatives Council at the Nusantara Building, Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta.
On Friday, the People’s Consultative Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Regional Representatives Council held the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Regional Representatives Council, one of the agenda items being President Prabowo Subianto’s speech on the delivery of the performance reports of state institutions and the State Address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.
This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.
The theme serves as a momentum for state institutions to convey achievements as well as the direction of national development policy in realising sovereignty, justice, and prosperity for the people.
