Jalan Sawangan Permai Rusak Lagi, Residents Demand Comprehensive Repairs
The access road connecting Sawangan, Bojongsari, Pancoran Mas, and Limo sub-districts along Jalan Sawangan Permai in Sawangan Baru ward has once again shown signs of damage despite recent repairs. This early deterioration is caused by suboptimal repair quality and high rainfall. “The main causes of the damage to Sawangan Baru road are low-quality patching, heavy rainfall that damages the new asphalt, and the passage of heavy vehicles, especially soil trucks that exceed the road’s load capacity,” said Arifin, 40, one of the residents of Sawangan Baru ward, on Thursday afternoon (26/3/2026). Arifin added that the damaged road endangers road users, particularly motorcyclists, triggers accidents, and slows traffic flow. “This phenomenon has often been reported through the app or the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (Dinas PUPR) post for immediate follow-up,” he said. The road connecting those four sub-districts, according to Arifin, due to low patching quality and high rainfall that damages the new asphalt, has not even lasted a month before deteriorating again. “This damaged road requires comprehensive repairs, not just temporary fixes like patching, so that the road lasts longer,” he stated. Junaedi, 57, another resident, assessed that the damaged road is very dangerous for road users because it is uneven and potholed. According to him, the road was newly repaired less than a month ago, but its condition has returned to being damaged as before. “It was only repaired less than a month ago, and the road is already in this state of ruin,” said Junaedi. He hopes that the Depok City Public Works and Spatial Planning Department will soon carry out higher-quality repairs. “Damaged roads need to be repaired to be safe for all users. Road damage can increase the risk of accidents, especially for two-wheeled vehicle riders. Therefore, comprehensive repairs are necessary,” said Junaedi. Regarding the condition of the damaged road, Media Indonesia has contacted the relevant officials, but as of the publication of this news, no response has been received.
