Jalan Rasuna Said renovation completed, Pramono confident it will become new Jakarta icon

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung believes that Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said, which has been fully renovated and inaugurated on Sunday morning, can become a new icon for Jakarta. “I am confident this road will become a new landmark for Jakarta because everyone can see it is now much more organised, tidier, and at the end there are specially installed orchids,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Sunday. The renovation of the 3.8 km Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said, which included pavement repairs, the dismantling of 109 monorail pillars, and adjustments to the elevation between the express and slow lanes, cost approximately Rp91 billion. The inauguration of the Rasuna Said area at the Setiabudi Integritas bus stop was coupled with the naming of the Setiabudi Integritas stop, a collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a symbol of strengthening anti-corruption culture and integrity in strategic public spaces. Pramono explained that the financing for the Setiabudi Integritas bus stop renovation did not use the regional budget but was entirely funded through creative naming rights financing. “The financing is entirely from naming rights and existing advertising. This is Jakarta’s way of building the city, not solely depending on the regional budget, but by providing opportunities for naming rights,” Pramono said. Head of the Jakarta Highways Department Heru Suwondo stated that the dismantling of 109 monorail pillars was completed within a month. Previously, Assistant for Economy and Finance of the Jakarta Regional Secretariat and Chair of the 499th Jakarta Anniversary Committee, Suharini Eliawati, said this activity is part of the Jakarta anniversary celebrations, while also demonstrating various achievements and concrete development steps whose benefits can be directly felt by the community. “Through area revitalisation, strengthening environmental awareness culture, and integrated infrastructure development, we aim to present a city that is increasingly comfortable, modern, and competitive for all residents,” she said.
