Jalan Kuningan Barat in South Jakarta to Narrow Until 31 May 2026 Due to Utility Relocation Project
JAKARTA - Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya in South Jakarta will experience narrowing until 31 May 2026 due to utility network relocation works in the area. The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency is implementing traffic engineering to support the works taking place on Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya, Jalan Kuningan Barat I, and Jalan Kuningan Barat II. “In connection with the utility network relocation works on Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya, we are implementing traffic engineering,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, in his statement to Kompas.com on Thursday (7/5/2026). Meanwhile, traffic rerouting for motorists is being implemented around the work site. Syafrin explained that the works are being carried out using manual boring methods, involving tasks such as drilling paths, installing subducts, constructing manholes, and pulling cables. In the first phase, the works are being conducted on Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya from the intersection with Jalan Kapten P Tendean to in front of Gedung Cyber 1. “The dimensions of the works are 200x100 cm for the manhole and 200x50 cm for the hand hole/auxiliary pit; during the works, there will be narrowing of the road body,” said Syafrin. The DKI Transportation Agency advises the public to anticipate traffic congestion around the project site by adjusting travel times or using alternative routes.
