Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in Bantul Sterilised from Takbir Processions!

Police have prohibited takbir keliling processions from passing through the protocol road in Bantul to reduce the potential for motor vehicle build-up in the centre of Bumi Projotamansari. The police will not hesitate to take firm action against any violations.

Bantul Police Chief, AKBP Bayu Puji Hariyanto, stated that they are not banning takbir keliling or takbiran competitions. However, all such activities must conclude by 11:00 PM at the latest.

“Participants in takbir keliling are strictly prohibited from passing through the protocol road or Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. This sterilisation area starts from the Gose intersection to the Klodran intersection,” he told reporters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Bayu continued that the ban aims to prevent traffic density while anticipating unwanted incidents on the night of takbiran. As an alternative, the public can conduct takbir keliling within their respective district scopes.

“If you still wish to hold takbir keliling, please adhere to the established radius limits, namely only within the local Kapanewon scope,” he said.

Furthermore, after 11:00 PM, the police request that participants return to their homes in an orderly manner.

“And do not use loudspeakers during the journey home,” he added.

In addition, takbir keliling participants are strictly prohibited from carrying sharp weapons, alcoholic beverages, as well as firecrackers or fireworks that could provoke or disrupt security. Moreover, the vehicles used must meet technical requirements and be roadworthy, have officially registered STNK, and standard vehicle equipment.

“The police firmly prohibit the use of racing exhausts or exhausts that do not meet technical specifications, and we will take firm action against any parties that commit acts disturbing security,” he said.

Regarding the use of loudspeakers, Bayu reminded that the equipment should only be used for Eid al-Fitr propagation. Therefore, Bayu asked the public to consider the decibel levels to avoid disturbing other residents’ peace.

“Personnel will also be on standby at various strategic points for intensive security and monitoring,” he stated.
