Jalan Daan Mogot in West Jakarta has been hit by flooding, causing traffic gridlock along the major thoroughfare.

Based on observations at the scene on Friday (20 February 2026) at 10.00 Western Indonesian Time, water approximately 10 centimetres deep was inundating Jalan Daan Mogot in the direction of Cengkareng. The flooding was concentrated in front of the Taman Kota TransJakarta bus stop.

The flooding subsequently caused congestion along Jalan Daan Mogot towards Cengkareng, with the gridlock beginning after the Pesing flyover.

Vehicles were observed avoiding the leftmost lane, with a number of motorcyclists seen using the dedicated TransJakarta corridor.

Nevertheless, TransJakarta buses remained in active operation, with several buses spotted passing through the area around the flooding.

Officers from the West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (Sudin SDA) were stationed at the scene. They were observed pumping water and assisting with traffic management at the flood site.

The flooding had been reported earlier by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Management Centre (TMC Polda Metro Jaya) account on X. The report was issued at 06.56 Western Indonesian Time on Friday (20 February).

“06.56 water pooling of approximately 5 to 10 cm in front of the Taman Kota pedestrian overpass near Perum Victoria,” the TMC Polda Metro wrote.

Jalan Daan Mogot from Pesing towards Cengkareng remained passable, though motorists were urged to exercise caution.

“Jalan Daan Mogot in West Jakarta from Pesing towards Cengkareng remains passable for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. With rainy conditions, motorists are advised to remain cautious when passing through,” the TMC Polda Metro wrote.
