JAKTV Issues Apology for Broadcast Disruption on 1 June 2026
JAKTV management extends its sincerest apologies to all viewers, the public, parents, families, partners, and all parties who felt uncomfortable, disturbed, or harmed by the broadcast disruption that occurred on Monday, 1 June 2026. The broadcast disruption caused the appearance of unauthorised and inappropriate material that was not part of JAKTV’s official programmes, editorial material, or broadcasts. JAKTV accepts and respects the decision of the Jakarta Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID DKI Jakarta), which has imposed an administrative sanction in the form of a written reprimand on JAKTV regarding the incident. “We understand that this decision serves as an important reminder of JAKTV’s responsibility as a broadcasting institution to maintain a broadcasting space that is safe, healthy, orderly, and in accordance with applicable broadcasting regulations,” stated JAKTV, quoted on Thursday (11/6/2026). We recognise that this incident should not have happened. JAKTV understands the discomfort, shock, disappointment, and concern felt by the public, especially parents and families. JAKTV views this incident as a serious lesson and a comprehensive evaluation of its broadcasting governance, security systems, monitoring procedures, emergency response, and internal coordination. Since the incident was identified, JAKTV has taken a number of handling steps, including stopping the unauthorised broadcast, temporarily halting broadcasting activities as a security measure, conducting an initial examination of the related systems and equipment, submitting a report to the Metro Jaya Regional Police, and coordinating with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, KPID DKI Jakarta, and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). JAKTV will also continue to strengthen its broadcast security system, ensure emergency broadcast termination procedures can run quickly and effectively, conduct a thorough evaluation of human resources and related workflows, and submit a report on the implementation of follow-up actions to KPID DKI Jakarta by the specified deadline. In addition, JAKTV is grateful for the attention, reports, criticism, and concern from the public. Feedback from viewers is an important part of our efforts to improve. JAKTV is committed to making this incident a momentum for improvement so that JAKTV’s broadcasting services can return with stronger, safer, more responsible, and better governance.
