Jaksel City Government Prioritises Workplace Safety for PPSU Officers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Selatan City Government (Pemkot Jaksel) is prioritising attention to the workplace safety of Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU) officers following several work accidents experienced by some of these workers in the field.
Jakarta Selatan Deputy Mayor Ali Murthadho, in his statement on Monday, requested that all district heads and village heads ensure the quality of procurement of goods, including work tools and safety equipment for PPSU officers.
“The current priority is work safety equipment. We often promote the importance of K3 (Occupational Safety and Health) to entrepreneurs and private companies. However, sometimes we ourselves are less attentive to PPSU officers working in the field,” said Ali.
He explained that several items whose availability must be ensured include traffic cones, warning lights, scotlite or reflective materials on PPSU uniforms, as well as other equipment that supports workplace safety, especially in high-risk conditions.
“Moreover, for those working night shifts or starting work at dawn, adequate equipment is very necessary,” Ali emphasised.
He also hopes that increased attention to the safety of PPSU officers can minimise the risk of work accidents. Especially considering that these officers play an important role in maintaining environmental cleanliness and comfort.
“I ask that officers working in high-risk conditions be truly attended to. Do not let bad incidents happen again,” said Ali.
As is known, a PPSU officer from Ragunan Village with initials BP (40) passed away after being hit by a car driven by AS (30) on Jalan Pejaten Barat, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta Selatan, on 15 April 2026.
