Jakpro, the Jakarta Provincial Government’s public development company, will organise the JIS Ramadhan Festival as a community space integrating religious activities, family entertainment, cultural performances, and affordable food bazaars for Jakarta residents, according to Jakpro Chief Executive Iwan Takwin.

The initiative also aims to activate micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and empower the local economy around Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). All activities will emphasise shared values, inclusivity, and social benefit, promoting spiritual development within Jakarta’s modern infrastructure landscape.

The festival is expected to provide a spiritually fulfilling and enjoyable worship experience for all community segments. Takwin stated that the JIS Ramadhan Fest is not merely a routine event but reflects Jakpro’s commitment to developing JIS as a multipurpose public space open to various community activities.

“We position JIS as a modern, inclusive, and sustainable Jakarta icon, aligned with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung’s vision of making Jakarta a global city with internationally standard public spaces,” Takwin said.

The festival will run from 28 February to 1 March at JIS’s East Concourse, targeting 20,000 visitors with free entry. As part of Ramadhan programming, Jakpro will distribute 3,000 subsidised food packages during the festival, forming part of a total 4,500 packages distributed throughout Ramadhan to ease residents’ expenses and maintain purchasing power around the JIS area.

The distribution programme reflects Governor Pramono Anung’s commitment to strengthening community purchasing power amid positive economic growth trends.

Activities will include collective Qur’an recitation by hafiz (Qur’an memorisers), communal tarawih prayers, halal food bazaars, shared breaking of the fast, and a reading garden operated with the National Library (Balai Pustaka). The main attractions will feature lectures and Islamic guidance from prominent Indonesian preachers including Ustadz Khalid Basalamah, Ustadz Ali Hasan Bawazier, Ustadz Abdul Somad, Ustadz Das’ad Latif, and Ustadz Solmed, expected to provide spiritual reflection and moderate, inclusive religious insights for the community.

Takwin invited all residents to experience the spiritual warmth of Ramadhan at Jakarta’s celebrated stadium.
