Jakpro Distributes 4,500 Affordable Food Packages and Hosts Shopping Event for Orphans and Needy Children During Ramadan
PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) (Jakpro) views the holy month of Ramadan as a moment to be grateful for the progress of development while also sharing blessings with the community through a series of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs.
Various social activities are held for residents living around development projects and assets managed by the company in Jakarta. This program is part of Jakpro’s effort to provide direct benefits of development to the community during the blessed month.
The Ramadan CSR series began with the “Shopping with Orphans and Needy Children” activity, which was held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Lotte Grosir Green Pramuka. This program targets orphans and needy children living around the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai development route as a form of social concern and togetherness during Ramadan.
A total of 100 children had the opportunity to shop directly for various basic necessities, school supplies, and daily necessities according to their individual needs. With the concept of independent shopping, the children are accompanied by volunteers so that they can choose the items they want, so that the assistance is not only material, but also provides a positive experience, happiness, and a sense of being valued.
In addition to the program for orphans and needy children, Jakpro also runs an affordable basic necessities program to help ease the burden of household needs for the community during Ramadan. In total, 4,500 affordable basic necessities packages are prepared for distribution to residents.
Of this amount, 1,500 packages are distributed to communities around the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B development route spread across several areas, while 3,000 other packages are distributed to the wider community on Sunday, March 1, 2026, as part of the Jakarta International Stadium Ramadan Festival. Through this activity, it is hoped that the benefits of the Ramadan program can be felt by more residents.
The affordable basic necessities packages can be purchased for Rp100,000 from the normal price of Rp150,000. Each package contains 5 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of wheat flour, 1 liter of cooking oil, and 1 kilogram of sugar. This subsidized price policy aims to maintain the affordability of basic necessities for the community in the face of increased consumption during the fasting month.
President Director of Jakpro, Iwan Takwin, said that the Ramadan CSR series is a form of the company’s gratitude for the trust of the community as well as support for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s policy in maintaining the purchasing power of residents.
“This affordable basic necessities program is part of the implementation of the DKI Jakarta Governor’s commitment to revitalize and strengthen the purchasing power of the community, especially in the midst of the momentum of economic growth which continues to show a positive trend. Jakpro as a BUMD is present not only to build infrastructure, but also to ensure that the benefits of development can be felt directly by residents,” said Iwan.
He added that household consumption is still the main pillar of Jakarta’s economy, so efforts to maintain the purchasing power of the community play a strategic role in ensuring that economic activity continues to move and the benefits of growth can be felt equally by all levels of society. In line with the policies of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government under the leadership of Pramono Anung, various stimuli continue to be encouraged so that the wheels of the economy continue to turn, jobs are maintained, and economic growth can be enjoyed inclusively by all levels of society.
Through this Ramadan CSR series, Jakpro reaffirms its commitment to continue to present social programs that are based on concern, togetherness, and gratitude. The company also emphasizes its support for government policies in strengthening the purchasing power of the community, maintaining regional economic stability, and encouraging Jakarta’s development to be inclusive, competitive, and sustainable.
