Jakpro apologises for tap-in/tap-out machine issues on Jakarta LRT
PT Jakarta Propertionindo (Jakpro) has apologised regarding complaints from Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT users concerning ongoing issues with the tap-in and tap-out machines.
Jakpro’s VP Corporate Secretary, Muhamad Alfin Rinaldyansyah, stated that the company is continuously evaluating the ticketing system on this route.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused. As the Jakarta LRT begins its initial operations, we are continuously evaluating the use of the ticketing system as part of our efforts to strengthen service. We are currently following up on this with the relevant parties,” Alfin said when contacted on Tuesday.
Furthermore, Alfin noted that several stations on the route are not yet operational, meaning trains cannot yet stop at those locations. According to Alfin, the opening of stations is being conducted in stages to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
“We will provide information regarding the opening of other stations soon. The opening is being carried out gradually to ensure safety and comfort for passengers. Our primary focus right now is monitoring public enthusiasm and responding with enhanced services,” Alfin explained.
Despite the technical issues, Alfin noted that public enthusiasm for the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT remains high, particularly during weekends. To manage the resulting crowds, Jakpro has increased the number of train sets operating on the line.
Additionally, staff have implemented discretionary measures by limiting passenger quotas to 140 people per trip on a situational basis. Alfin explained that these restrictions were introduced to maintain comfort within the carriages and to ensure that passengers at subsequent stations still have available capacity to board.
