JAKI & Fellowship Cities Forum 2026 strengthens public service innovation

The Jakarta provincial government has officially held the JAKI & Fellowship Cities Forum (JFCF) 2026, which serves as a space for sharing experiences and good practices to strengthen digital government transformation and public service innovation.

“This forum is a space for sharing experiences. It does not mean we are the best, but the experience that has been carried out in Jakarta can be shared with other regions so that digital transformation can provide more optimal public services,” said Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno when opening JFCF 2026 at City Hall, Jakarta, Wednesday.

According to him, technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data can be a booster in answering various urban problems. Such technology can help the government understand citizens’ needs, determine policy priorities, and ensure that education, health, and social assistance services are better targeted.

“The Jakarta provincial government views technology as one of the game changers in overcoming various urban challenges, including the use of AI and big data,” said Rano.

Meanwhile, Head of the Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency Marulina Dewi said JFCF 2026, which carries the theme “Sharing Best Practice in Digital Transformation and Public Innovation”, presented 14 sessions consisting of five offline forums and nine online forums. The activity also involved local governments, academics, industry, communities, and national and international partners.

“This forum is a space for sharing experiences and good practices from various countries and regions, especially in digital government transformation, the use of AI and big data, and public service innovation,” said Marulina.

On that occasion, Deputy Assistant for National Digital Service Integration at the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Adi Nugroho said that future government digital service development must prioritise human-centric design, namely focusing on community needs. Adi assessed that digital transformation needs to be built with the principle of interoperability so that various government applications and systems can be interconnected. Thus, public services can be delivered more easily, in an integrated manner, and effectively.
